Memorial Day ~ Lest We Forget

On thy grave the rain shall fall
from the eyes of a mighty nation.

Thomas William Parsons

From these honored dead we take increased devotion
to that cause for which thy gave
the last full measure of devotion …
that we here highly resolve
that these dead
shall not have died in vain.

Abraham Lincoln

  1. Thank you. That was lovely.

  2. *I’m wiping tears from my eyes* My grandfather is in his 90’s and is a WWII veteran who fought in the Pacific Theater. He was a gunner in the US Army and suffered hearing loss and from Malaria. Growing up, he suffered from the odd bout of Malaria from time to time and my grandmother lovingly cared for him. I don’t get to see him as much as I would like due to the fact that I live far across the state, but I am always ever humbled by his service and it led me to pursue a career (although short-lived due to a bad knee injury) in the military.

    • Hello Mary,
Thank you for your note. We are grateful to your grandfather for his service to our country. I’m sure he appreciates having a granddaughter that is so proud of him.

      Best regards,
