Memorial Day ~ Remembering The Lost

They hover as a cloud of witnesses above this Nation.
Henry Ward Beecher

And they who for their country die
Shall fill an honored grave,
For glory lights the soldier’s tomb,
And beauty weeps the brave.
Joseph Drake

With the tears a Land hath shed
Their graves should ever be green.

Thomas Bailey Aldrich

  1. I’m a service member, and I loved this .. wonderful photograph—wonderful in a sorrowful kind of way.

I love the site and have found the pictures of horses cheering. Thank for all that!

  2. That last photo is heartbreaking.

  3. Thank you for all these wonderful pictures. Thanks to the military, I can’ currently own a horse because it wouldn’t be fair to have to move the horse every few years. But someday I will own at least one again. Until then, I’ll just live through this moments captured in time!
